Dear Respected Community Members in the D.C. Metro Areas:
On behalf of the Bangladesh Center for Community Development Inc. (BCCDI), we would like to express our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thank you to all the community members who attended and helped to make our annual "Boishakhi Mela" welcoming the New Year 1421 a grand success. This event was held on Saturday, April 26 at the magnificent Mason District Park in Fairfax County.
As all of you know that BCCDI Bangla School introduced first ever outdoor Boishakhi Mela in Washington Metro area in 2005. Now welcoming Bangla New Year (Boishakhi Mela) in outdoor setting has become a traditional norm not just for Bangla School but for many other organizations as well.
In the same way BCCDI-Bangla School also introduced another popular event Pitha Uthshob for the first time in Washington metropolitan area in the year 2004.
Since then BCCDI-Bangla School is bringing the best Pitha Uthshob and Boishakhi Mela to our Bangladeshi community for last ten years. We have successfully presented a great show this year with a remarkable, extraordinary and entertaining cultural show from BCCDI-Bangla School Music and Dance Academy, celebrated Ektara cultural troops, magnificent musical band group "Aricha Ghat" and many other talented individual performers. Disregarding possibility of all day rain a very large number of triumphant Bangladeshi crowds gathered in colorful dress stamp the ground of Mason District Park with great enthusiasm welcoming the Bangla New Year 1421.
We would like to thanks from the bottom of our heart to our Honorable Deputy Chief of Mission and Acting Ambassador H.E M.A. Muhit for being the chief guest of this event. BCCDI-Bangla School also sincerely acknowledges personal appreciation and encouragement of our Honorable Ambassador Mr. Akramul Qader who could not be present as his Excellency had another out-of-state event. Our profound gratitude to every member of Bangladesh Embassy and their families for attending our Boishakhi Mela 2014 event.
