Long before that our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam uttered the slogan " Joy Bangla" in his election campaign, when he ran for Bengal Lagislative Assembly in the year1937 from Faridpur Zila. Not only that, he was the first to use word "Bangladesh" in his writing when the norm of the then literary circle was to use the word "Bengal" or "Bangla".
